I don't mind Starlight Glimmer's existence, in fact I kinda like her. I'd take Glim Glam episodes over CMC episodes any day of the week.

By the nature of having the most episodes, yeah the mane 6 will have more shitty episodes in quantity. I haven't really been watching this season (I just got caught up on 6), but the CMC only got 3 episodes last season, 1 really good, 2 meh. On second thought, Glim could probably appropriate AJ's episodes and I wouldn't even mind.

Which was the good CMC episode. Also, if you haven't watched season 7 yet, the CMC get some of their best episodes in a long time. Forever Filly is a surprisingly somber (for the show at least) episode, Hard to Say Anything was really entertaining despite a bad premise, and Parental Glidance is honestly the best episode in the show.

I really liked The Fault in Our Cutie Marks. The first one (I forget its name, I think its On Your Marks) had a nice song but I didn't really like the rest of it, while Cart Before the Ponies was just "how much of a cunt can we make RD, Rarity, and AJ." I'm getting caught up on S7 right now, I watched up to Rock Solid Friendship + Fame and Misfortune.

Yea, that episode is pure garbage. It literally does everything wrong bar making the CMC unlikable and doing that may have made the episode better considering how they are treated. Besides that one though, I can't think of another genuinely bad CMC episode since season 2.

Celestial Advice was boring and predictable, and moreover a letdown, as it dropped the 2-part premiere tradition. Honest Apple was a disgrace, and so were Forever Filly and Fame And Misfortune. S7 has had a suprising amount of rotten episodes, but I'm still positive about the show; I don't experience a general decline in quality, it's an episode-specific issue. Parental Glideance and The Perfect Pear are god tier.

Flutters didn't want to make an animal shelter, she wanted to make a sanctuary, the difference between the two is so clear I doubt you've even watched the episode. The "team" didn't have any creative authority and shouldn't have changed the plans without their client's input.

Glimmer's role in the book episode was trivial. Sweet Jesus, the irrelevant crap you can make up just to justify your hatred towards Starlight. I don't think she's a great character either, but man, this is autism.

What was wrong with Forever Filly besides it being before the best episode in the show. Its honestly one of the most serious episodes in the show and unlike most episodes, doesnt have a completely clean resolution.

I can understand if people have different opinions. To me it were Rarity ignoring Sweetie Belle's clear misery to relive good times as she knew them. She was really acting in self-interest and it reminded me of The Cart Before The Ponies. I should rewatch it, maybe it was less painful in retrospect. The fillies had a nice subplot.

To me its becoming more and more clear that Sweetie Belle and Rarara are drifting apart and the ending really exemplifies that. Sweetie Belle really isn't wrong when she says that rarara doesn't know her at all considering pretty much every episode involving the duo (especially carts before the ponies and this one) involves Rarity in some way doing something that she wouldn't have had she known her sister better. Sure, by the end they find a way to bond, but its clear that they aren't as close as they were.

The ending struck me as weird too. Rarity took Sweetie Belle to the ice cream shop because she knew Sweetie loved ice cream as a little filly. Sweetie states she'd much prefer a salad or something like that, but in the end they are still eating a big bowl of ice cream. For what purpose?
