The real reason is because they have their own ideas and probably think they're better than Lauren's.

Obviously not, she writes her ideas and development of the series in the codex, Hasbro already have everything since season 1.

But, they don't want to use these ideas, cause it end up too "darkly".

If it can make you feel better, I have rode somewhere (but I can't recall where) that some of the elements of the "original" timeline try to be added to the series (it was when Larson leaved the show if I recall well).

Anyway, original story shouldn't give more than 3 seasons...

She can't really prove they're her ideas, and second, even if she could, there's no law saying you can't use someone else's vague ideas in your own creations. If somebody thought of the see-through toaster before someone else made it, the person who had the idea has no right to the product.
