Many people on /mlp/ are so autistic that when they watch the show they manage to actually gleam less information from it than you average fan of the fandom who hasn't touched an episode in years. I wouldn't be surprised if the average horsefucker viewing experience went like this:

There's a difference between decorating walls with food (or, more accurately, making them out of it) in expectation of someone's visit, and spreading someone's ready-to-eat muffin on a nearby wall.
