I think the problem is that no one really gets out to play card games anymore, it's why a lot of them have gone digital. Especially my little pony ones, quite frankly.

I played it for a year or so, went pretty well. Community dried up in our area, but it was good while it lasted.

They also go pretty full-out with the fan refs on the cards, good for a laf

I played for a little while but I've never been particularly fond of the CCG players you typically find in card shops. The kind that play their turns lightning fast and you've never even seen the super rare cards they're using so you feel like an asshole for not only taking a couple minutes on your turn but needing to stop and read all the cards they're using.

Are CMC and Spike the equivalent of Magic the Gathering adding new colors?

Not OP, but I played the game up until 2 expansions ago. CMC and Spike didn't add new colors. There's been multiple versions of those characters under different colors, only the mane 6 have fixed colors. I usually played yellow/purple for zerging but some of the Crystal Empire sets let you make more complex decks using the prismatic keyword.

I played it once with an autist in a basic normal deck with a basic Discord deck. Dickhole put a 7 point lead over me where i was sitting on 0, before i drew super bullshit cards and went from 0 to 10 without giving him even a chance to play anything.
