What counts as "purple" to dragons may not count as "purple" to ponies (though it fucking hsould, as we've seen both races are fairly technicolor).

I always thought of Twilight as pink with purple mane. But when Starlight appeared, I also think of her as pink with purple mane, despite the tones being different. Really, Ember should've just remembered which was the darker one, the mane highlight color, or the fucking WINGS.

Pink isn't even a real color guys. It doesn't exist on the visible-light spectrum. It's an attempt by your brain to rationalize a color it doesn't understand because our eyeballs don't possess the rods and cones to actually see what hue it is.
Other animals can see colors we can't perceive.
Bees for instance can see ultraviolet light.
Starlight might actually be Purple to a Dragon, who might see colors differently than us.

Going from the color posted on >>30762402 the hex value is f4c8fa. going by http://www.colorhexa.com/f4c8fa the color is described as a very soft magenta, which is a very pale purple. It looks very pinkish due to all the red in it, but the amount of blue makes it considered a purple. It is very close to pink though, if there was less blue it would be pink.
