I have a theory that in the original draft, that wasn't supposed to be Starlight. She was never meant to be in the episode. That should've been Spike but they put Starlight there to replace him on the last minute because, y'know, bronies love Starlight.

I also thought it was strange that the two fillies at the end needed to be escorted by Starlight when those two same fillies were fully capable in thanking Twilight themselves. DHX is really trying super hard with Starlight for some reason. Why couldn't they just make Starlight the main protagonist of Gen 5 instead?

my headcanon is that starlight just brainwashed the two fillies at the end to say what they did.

The funny thing is that every secondary character is treated better than the mane6. Every OC, every ugly, every asshole, every sociopath and every communist is shown to be in the right and the mane6 in the wrong.

If we had real moderation then there would be no such thing as glimmerfags, sunset shimmer, equestria girls and hasdrones.
