I can buy that a mental shift like that can change the color of a unicorn's magic, but it seems like the swapped colors should have been opposite. Red's a more villainous color and teal/cyan is a color Shimmer wears after she becomes good.

"May the Best Pet Win" Equestria girls edition and the worst possible Celestia episode.

The Celestia one was better, because there was a little bit of drama, sort of story. Shame though, that this poor man's excuse for Celestia would bring shame on the regal and dignified Princess.

The Sunset one was just terrible. I get that 3 minutes isn't much time to tell a story, but that one was terrible. Sunset felt left out that she didn't have a pet, got a pet. Obvious merchandising ploy.

Also it's stupid that Sunset got a lizard. She's obviously a cat person, she has the personality traits of a cat. She scratches that cat in the other short. Whatever.

On the whole these shorts are basically what I would have thought a show for girls aged 6-12 had to be, before watching MLP. What a pathetic effort.

Prediction: The Movie won't preform anywhere near what Hasbro expects. Toy revenue will fall, and they will shutter the show after season 8. Then, the final legacy of FiM will be a shitty series of EQG episodes on Youtube, which will be pay per view. Though that might be better than the slow, spongebob-esque, undignified death of the show that will happen if toy sales keep going up.

Celly is an alicorn though, same with cadie as well, and indeed there wasnt any fixed rules about that, yet it seemed to me like an unspoken rule since it fit pretty much all unicorns at the time.
It was also pretty nice to think that they thought on minimal detail like that and kinda annoys me that they just seem to pick a random color nowadays.
Shimmer is a great example for that as well, the new red doesnt really works for her imho and the older was the same as her eye colour
