Why are there so many people on fimfiction who don't watch

Fanfic sites are always full of attention whores who pay little if any attention to the source material. They just spotted something popular and wanted to jump on its coat tails.

Why do you save thumbnails with a white background?

Don't know if you're expecting a serious answer, but it's because they're fans of the community. Fimfiction started with everyone watching the show and part of the fandom, but now that people have been using it for 4, 5, 6 years, interacting with the other users, it's become it's own community that is related to FiM, but separate. There's huge overlap between fans of the show and Fimfiction users, but it's not 100%.

The same thing applies here btw... there are a lot of users here who don't watch the show anymore and are "fans of the fandom" or whatever.

Examples? I don't really see this when I browse fimfic. I wouldn't be surprised, but it's nice to see these things.
The only time I have actually seen it was when my brother stumbled upon it while looking for Red Vs. Blue.

Maybe some of them think their ideas are better than those presented in a show aimed at little girls
