He overtook Lauren Faust's postion as creative vision/showrunner for the cartoon show and the movie. All the credits are useless because he's the man with the ideas and the final say on what happens on screen. Nobody but him gives the ideas around, everyone else(the production team) just follows his orders.

After years of ordering the production team around he decided to put himself in their position as a writer and he immediately chickened out. The christmas carol episode with Starlight Glimmer wasn't directly written down by him. He stared at the blank page and then called Meghan McCarthy over the phone to help him write the script, meaning Meghan becomes his type monkey and he just orders her around and Meghan keeps things running smoothly so he doesn't stare at the page blankly like a retard.
