Oh Shed anon. I just had an idea. What if we go scavenge for salt? Maybe if we pour an unhealthy amount of salt on the thing it'll help with the drying process.
We'll split the party. Gem and Crystal will distract the small sample, as Dusty flies up and use Observe (or maybe that is not needed) to look for a Grocery or Convenient Store. He could take a grocery bag and take as much salt as he could carry.
If Dusty's part can go without interruption, I think we'll have a good....maybe 1-3 rounds before Dusty regroups. 3-5 if things get nasty for him.
And even then it'll take some time fore the smooze to dry out. Then again the salt might not have any affect against it.

[Reminder]
Fleeing from battle will sacrifice your entire turn while your party attempts to flee and any currently grappled allies will bu stuck with the enemies if the attempt is successful. Also trying to carry knocked out party members will slow you down but knocked out party members can also be left to your enemy if you flee if you choose. If fleeing from battle is unsuccessful enemy attacks for that turn will go as planned and you essentially just loose that turn.

>The Smooze attempts to attack Crystal again. and fails.
The Smooze gains 40HP
>Crystal begins to Flee but she is a very bad flier and seems to have lost her bearings.
Hidden Gem calls upon the power of the Stave to help Crystal take to the sky.
>The party flees from battle, and they are successful.
>As you are all flying away you notice the sun beginning to set.
>"Does anypony else hear a cracking sound? Yes?" Crystal asks.
>Dusty looks to the ground, "The dried smooze! It's starting to break apart!"
>You look down and sure enough, large cracks in the smooze are forming and darker purple goop is seeping up from the cracks.
"Do you think we'd be safe on the fake castle?"
>"I don't know, it looks like there are purple stains pretty high on some of the hotels." Dusty answers.
As you look out you see a light shining from the top of the castle... and one from the hotel with a roller-coaster on it... and one from the hotel shaped like a giant circus tent. in fact, you're staring to see lights on the tops of most of the hotels.

>"Well, you might have a hard time, the pegasi have been helping ponies out of the town ever since this smooze attacked. it's been taking them a long time to do though. that's why we're camped out up here." The stallion answers.

That doesn't sound right. The news said that they lost all contact with Las Pegasus and that everybody is missing, but if refugees are being safely escorted out of the city, than there would've been mention of a massive monster attack and survivors.
