I want to get into MLP, but I didn't like the first couple episodes of it, is there any hope of getting into it?
>>
>>30549070
It's too late to get into MLP. We're a dead fandom and we're only gonna get deader. Go waste your life on something new and upcoming.
>>
Look at the porn. It will tell you everything you need to know about the general personalities of the characters and be far more pleasurable than the show.
>>
>>30549082
Pity, I wanted something to obsess over. Any recommendations? Nothing like Steven Universe though
>>30549095
Already do, just wanted to get into the show to pass the long hours
>>
>>30549105
Dr. Who is currently in an uproar. That may be fun to sniff around until it dies down. Beyond that if you're looking for something strictly cartoon you might try Starwars Rebels which I hear good things about. Rick and Morty is good for a kek. And of course you can always re-watch Cory in the House.
>>
>>30549135
Yeah, I will look into those, but MLP seemed really nice to be a part of, plus rainbow dash is a cutie
>>
>>30549082
>>30549095
>These awful pieces of advice.

>>30549070
OP what episodes did you watch? Did you at least watch the Pilot. While they aren't the best episodes of the series they set up the show. If you already watched the first few episodes of season one. Watch these from the same season

Sonic Rainboom
Suited For Success
Party of One
Winter Wrap Up
A Bird in the Hoof
Best Night Ever.

I can't make you like the show that's up to you. However one thing that might have you interested is the Feature length movie coming up in October
>>
>>30549169
Ill try watching all of season 1, and I will see then.
>>
>>30549160
The golden age of MLP is over. We had some absolutely amazing good times but I think everyone here can acknowledge that the fandom isn't anywhere near as lively as it used to be in 2011-2013.
>>
>>30549186
If you like Rainbow Dash you'll like quite a few moments with her in Season 1.
>>
>>30549223
Thing is I have been hearing from people who hate the MLP for the past few years is that it's "finally dying". Slow death?
>>
If you're into TNG at all you'll like Discord in S2.
>>
>>30549240
Yeah. It is dying off, but slowly. As all fandoms do. A lot of musicians, artists, and in general creators have jumped ship over the years. and have either deleted their old work, or don't want to be associated with the show anymore. The show's direction hasn't been the most coherent recently and a lot of people here have realized that. Too many it's still a fun show you can sit down and enjoy but 7 years is a long time and a lot of oldfags have stopped caring as much about the show.
>>
>>30549292
>too
meant to*
fuck.
>>
>>30549240
That Anon is correct in saying that the fandom is not as large as it once was in 2011-2013. People are a lot more self aware and pony doesn't run the internet like it used too.
The Finale of Season 3 and the spin off series Equestria Girls were jumping off points for many in the fandom. However that doesn't stop new people from showing up all the time.

Could be a long shot but as I said earlier we have a Feature Length movie coming out that could pump some life back in the fandom. I would say dying out wouldn't be the correct word to use rather winding down a bit. MLP videos still get decent numbers these days

Don't worry dude
>>30549306
Ah, I hope so. I don't like seeing communities die out. Something about it makes me feel melancholic.
>>
>>30549169
I just watched Winter Wrap Up and really enjoyed it, so I guess I will continue to watch it, thanks dude.
>>

>No Cutie Mark Chronicles

C'mon, anon, you were so close to giving the perfect recommendation.
>>
>>30549384
Can't believe I forgot that one especially since it's so important to the series.
>>30549383
Glad you enjoyed it. Are you much of a music person?
>>
>>30549420
Oh definitely! Music is who I am.
>>
>>30549427
I think you'll be liking this show then.
>>
>>30549474
Alright, I liked the songs in Winter Wrap up, so I will continue to watch. Thanks to everyone in the thread.

Thank you for all this information. The music I like is very varied. I really like synthpop, but I listen to all music except for rap

The guy in charge of the musical numbers is a genius at times. Same goes for Will the score composer
>>
>>30549561
Even then, there are a few rap artists I like. Hip-Hop is also really good too. I love everything, but like I said, Synthpop is my favourite, along with more experimental stuff made by small artists, and whatever Radiohead does.

Holy shit, I didn't realize the music scene was so dense. I would have never guessed. Thank you! I really mean it, dude.
>>
>>30549734
No prob. The pony fandom is a bit unique in that it literally set the template for fan music based around an entertainment property. During 2012 you couldn't throw a stick without hitting a remix of the show or an original pony song proclaiming love for mlp. Unfortunately as time went on and people grew older many folks who did horse music moved on, or grew embarassed of their old music and hid it or deleted it. There are several archives around with like, 50gbs of pony music saved from the past. There are pony songs in literally every genre.

Today the scene is a bit smaller but no less passionate. I've been into this stuff since the olden times. So feel free to ask if you have any questions about anything, music related or not.

Don't listen to him OP.
While it is true that the ride never ends (I've tried to get off twice before), it's actually quite a fun ride once you embrace the autism.

One word of warning though; NEVER show your power level, you WILL regret it.
>>
>>30550288
how to fully embrace the autism, it sounds comfy.
>>
>>30550293
Embracing the autism is basically accepting the fact that you like a show CREATED FOR LITTLE GIRLS, and no matter how many epic fight scenes, pop culture references, or adult parodies there are, it is still a show CREATED FOR LITTLE GIRLS.

Once you accept this and don't shame yourself for being interested in such a thing, you'll have a blast.
>>
>>30550326

Story time
>>
>>30550345
Not him but I once had my first and only encounter with a brony when a new kid moved into my art class a few years back. He wasn't THAT bad, but he was bad enough that he'd flaunt it, whereas I would hide my power level at all costs. Despite this, I think he knew anyways, and knew I knew he knew. Probably because whenever he'd make a cringy reference or 20% cooler joke he'd glance over at me to gauge my reaction. (usually a flinch or eye twitch) Anyways, he was the type of guy to sing Winter Wrap Up and hum the MLP theme while we worked, or when we're discussing vidya and the topic of Fallout is brought up, he'd talk about how cool the Steel Rangers are. I kind of envy the guy since I would never have had the balls to openly flaunt my autism like that. I lost touch with him when he moved away shortly after. He was literally the only brony I actually knew IRL.

I guess the moral of the story is you can be as cringy as you want as long as you move far away before it can have any long-term social repercussions.

Go to bed, MagicBlue
>>
>>30550621
Ahhh story time I guess.
>Be me
>parents think I have autism
>go through school being a social retard
>in grade 7 get sent to this weird mental hospital
>tried to act like a home
>was locked in the rooms there for most of the day
>rooms had a bed, a shelf, a counter/table, and a chair
>no electronics
>could only come out for food, school (they had 2 classrooms in it, or therapy sessions
>spent the days doing random shit like drawing
>this went on for 3 or 4 months
>you could not leave, sometimes your parents could take you out to do stuff on certain days
>they had a concrete room they would put you in if you were "aggressive"
>aggressive being anything that isn't totally willing to do anything you say
>would hold you down and inject you with some weird drug
>learned to hide most of my feelings
>near the end develop Stockholm Syndrome and start to like them
>feel bad when I have to leave
Now I feel only pure anger at them. If I ever see one of the people in public I am no doubt going to try and beat the shit out of them. It ruined my fucking life more than anything. Now I am not such a social retard, but I want to constantly kill myself, and I don't know why I was sent there. I was scared and i was alone
I don't like remembering it
>>
>>30550807
Shiz dude, do your parents know you feel this way? And in seventh grade too, wow. My condolences if it means anything. And the problem is when you're used to hiding your emotions they're so much harder to fix.
>>
>>30550884
Single mother family, makes sense that the son would be fucked over. She knows and she didn't and still doesn't care. I just get sad thinking that she cares so little.
>>
>>30550651
I saw one once. He had multicolored hair, and a couple of mini-plushes attached to his backpack (ponk and Rarara), as well as some pins related to mlp, and he was wearing a pony themed shirt.
I was too afraid to speak to him, because I was afraid that his spaghetti might run off on me.
>>
>>30550896
Ah man dude, that isn't right. But it sounds like you've grown since then, at least. Why did they think you were autism? Everyone is cringey in 7th grade. If you wanna change the topic too that's fine.
>>
>>30550914
This, it's kind of a catch 22, you only want to be friends with the bronies that hide it super well. And, well, good luck with that.
>>
>>30550937
I didn't listen at all to teachers, and I freaked out all the time, crying and yelling. Never violent, though. They kind of only thought I was autistic for 6 months, then my father found out and changed her mind. That was probably in grade 2 or something. I think that I have borderline personality disorder, but I do not trust therapists enough to get it checked out.
>>
>>30550965
Yeah, you want to be careful. That's not something you can remove from your medical history, and I'm pretty sure that's grounds for the government to take away your firearm priveleges.
>>
>>30550965
Lol, afraid you might get one of the fake ones that try to stir up memories that never happened? I'd say it's worth finding a legitimate one if it's bothering you so much. I mean you're taking to some random dude on a mlp board about it(granted, I did ask you), and it seems like it's troubling you.
>>
>>30550981
Canadian, already cucked
>>30550996
See the guy I replied to, it could go on my record. And sadly, borderline personality disorder comes with paranoia, so I do not know what to think.

Alright well therapists are ultimately supposed to help you help yourself, because they can't stay with you forever. The best therapy is the kind you give yourself, so if your too skeptical (is that the right word?) to go to a therapist you should study up on actual psychology and more importantly work on your meta cognition: how do you think? why? what do you say to yourself? Should I be thinking this? Etc etc.

I'mma go to sleep, night dude.
