Since we're using the students position in school to guess age, I think it's only fair to do the same for the staff as well, and I don't think there are a whole lot of thousand plus year old principals out there. I think they would have retired after so long running a school. I find it hard to believe that the natives have the same magical longevity that ponies do, since their world isn't inherently magical. I don't really think there's much of a basis for comparison. Additionally, Twilight was independent of her family at the start of the series. As in, likely an adult.

So this would mean that the CMC could be older or had nearly the same age (considering that the CMC's members had the same age or theres not big vary on their ages)

Considering this we could say that the age gap between Spike and the M6 is really big, because we have seen in flashbacks that Rarity already looked adult were Sweetie Belle was a toddler yet.
