Sunburst is knowledgeable but useless on his own. Shining armor is a one trick pony. Glimmer is smart, powerful, adaptive and she has no qualms with blasting fools, even ones she considers friends.

Sunburst would probably just run away and cry.
Shining would be able to deflect most anything Glim sends his way but I'm sure she'd have a way to get past his defenses somehow. Probably through trickery or threatening Twilight/Cadence/Flurry.
