>tfw summer
>no new episodes
>most anticipated episodes of the season are already over
>they were good
>it can only go down from here
>Movie will likely be a huge hot mess
>season 8 already confirmed
This ride just keeps going, but I'm not sure I still want to be on it.

>>it can only go down from here
We haven't seen the rest yet you autist, who's to say they'll be bad? Just because they're not as anticipated doesn't mean they won't be kino.
>>Movie will likely be a huge hot mess
>likely
That's just, like, your opinion, man.
>>season 8 already confirmed
And it looks like they're focussing more on lore. I'm fucking hype already considering how well season 7 has been going so far.
>This ride just keeps going, but I'm not sure I still want to be on it.
I absolutely do. This shit is fun. It's one of the only joys in my life.

There isn't anything as good as A Royal Problem or The Perfect Pear to look forward to but I think the quality of the season will still end strong.
The movie is whatever, though.
>>30497095
Did Discovery Family aired Perfect Pear?
I think I'll be off the ride after this season and movie.
I mean, the fandom itself is going but the episode ideas and mane 6 as a character is clearly dying, and I just don't need an episode that's not about mane 6 or CMC from the TV series. That's something IDW or fanfics are for.
To me it looks like FiM is going to be one of those rare shows that actually survives jumping the shark without going into zombie mode.
We've had the conclusion of all original characters' initial arcs, we've had 3 changes of show runner and most original writers, we've had corporate meddling, we've had a potential Scrappy, and the show has survived them all and still manages to put out an episode like The Perfect Pear.

You know episode ideas like A Royal Problem or Perfect Pear is what you really call "jumping a shark" ideas right?
>>30497225
Not really. They're ideas everyone and their cat had and wanted since S1 and have been kept in reserve.
It's possible that the show could jump the shark again now that they've expended some of those reserves, depending on what they'll do next. They still have a couple of those big continuity reserves left though, like Luna & Celestia's past, Starswirl, Discord backstory, origin of Spike's egg etc.
They could have expended all of those super obvious ideas in the first 3 seasons but they didn't, opting instead for mixing those in with new additional plotlines, and some filler as well. The result is a mixed bag of bad episodes and good episodes but it does prevent the entire show from going stale.

This
I was really surprised with this season's Flurry Heart episode. Honestly I've enjoyed the whole season so far, minus the few usual problems that any tv show will have.
I can't wait to see what's in store
>>30497095
>most anticipated episodes of the season are already over
>still three or four episodes we know nothing about
if you say so
>>30497201
>3 changes of show runner
More like 5
0. Lauren

>It's one of the only joys in my life.
You sound as if it were the only thing keeping you alive at this moment
>>30497498
Maybe it was meant for directors or producers in terms of "show runner".
>>30497601
Maybe, but I still doubt the directors have a lot of influence, I think they're mostly concerned with animation and storyboards considering that's where Jim came from.
The executive producers are actually funny to watch. From S1 to S4 they drop by one every season (+Lauren after S1), then they become more again as Davis, Wall, and later Fipke join and McCarthy and Thiessen are co-executive producers for a while. However Kirsten Newlands has been listed in every single episode.
