Heartbreaker would just fuck with people for the hell of it, kind'a like that one malicious ex. It'd be the only thrill she gets out of life, forcing friends and brothers against one another with her snatch and whatnot.

The reason I love Starlight when she was a villain is this. She had potential to be the mirror for Twilight and this show's agenda.

I always imagined an MLP movie where evil Twilight from an AU would be the villain, basically Twilight turned big alicorn, being the Element of Magic and having drained all of Princesses' magic Tirek-wise and established a tyrannical rule. M4 would be the rebellion and she would be struggling between killing them as her enemies and hoping to convert them to her side. Discord, Pinkie, Derpy and Weird Al would be imprisoned in stone as holders of the potentially dangerous chaos magic.
