I've only seen a couple episodes plus the Smooze movie when it comes to the original show, but I have seen and enjoyed the whole series of My Little Pony Tales.

Many of my earliest memories are from watching My Little Pony, Care Bears, He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, Transformers, TMNT while playing with the toys from the same show I was watching at the time

I watched it during original airings. But, back then, I honestly also liked the "and Friends" part of the show better. I was really into the Glo Worms segments. For MLP, I liked the Movie and especially the Midnight Castle special more than the show. A couple arcs from it did stick with me, though. Mostly the Nightshade arc and the one with the Rock Dog that was turning everyone to stone.

The show often felt pretty dark to me, so I can see why they eventually changed it for My Little Pony Tales, but I steered clear of that one, both because it clearly had the high fantasy and adventure elements removed, and because I was just getting old enough to start being embarrassed watching it.

I've seen like one or two episodes. Might be cool to watch a bunch in a stream...

I havent watched save for a couple of scenes that some faggot bring on here
it's funny because what was considered a toy commercial is now(and will be) an influential cartoon for FiM and so the rest that Gen 4 draws influence for upcoming cartoons

Many ideas came back from that generation:AJ,Spike and Twilight's design to name some
and even after Lauren creative inspiration...Tirek,the seaponies and the Smooze made a comeback showing that those ideas could be applied perfectly for the FiM world

now if they revived Grogar...

Hah, another G1 here. These day's it's paradice compared to how it used to be. Aerials, depending on the tv guide that comes with the saturday paper, kids not having control over anything involving the one or two tvs in the house, depending on what was shown to decide on what was going to be seen- and having to see it during the broadcast. etc. Cartoon ponies? Sounds great! Girl's show? You must mean Strawberry Shortcake. We got demons and monsters, here.

I did. Voice acting, story and animation were terrible but that was consistent of 80's cartoon. And it wasn't as girly as people thought. I remember it showed during a Saturday morning block with Transformers, He-Man, She-Ra and I think Brave Star and GI Joe. Good times.

I haven't made it to that episode so I'm not certain. I mainly posted it because Gusty's (left) voice actress was Nancy Jean Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) which I found amusing.

There were some tapes of episodes in my house that I used to occasionally watch with my sister in the very late 90s and early 2000s. I was really young so I don't really remember any particular stories but I remember watching the original show.

I was clopping to candy colored horses before I even knew what sexuality was.

80s, 90s, now. MLP seems to still have more life in it, but only as long as people who care about creating a solid finished product are working on it. Otherwise, it would have ended up like Rainbow Bright did. Or several of the mid 90s "for babies or worse" MLP cartoons did.
