I'm working on this. Making a clone isn't very hard.
First goal is complete feature parity with Derpibooru, then add on it with useful features.

And the best part: No Smiling Pony faggot.

I'm already running a few things (e.g. my pony archive) so hosting that really isn't much of a problem for me.

But mainly it's just a little fun project for me.

I'm all for people learning to code through personal projects, but your motivation of overthrowing a well-established major site is not very noble. Rules and guidelines exist for good reason, so I can only wish you good luck in dealing with mod issues, or if you don't do that, then good luck dealing with the issues stemming from the lack of moderation.
