I love the animation barring the CGI.
I think it will make up for the subpar writing.
>>30423468
The new animation genuinely does look nice. The airship CGI was aids, though.

Its different. Its kind of hard to get used to, but I think it works MUCH better for action stuff (the scene where tempest kicks and flips the fish guy looks smooth for example)
Plus, pinkie's shit eating grin when she's throwing cupcakes has me sold.

ya its growing on me after watching the trail a 3erd time
It'll take me some time to get used to it, but it might geniunely be good
>>30423468
I cannot get used to it, it just looks wrong.
Some parts look good but other parts seem to have the same crushed shadows as the first teaser.
It makes the ponies look like they're wrapped in plastic foil.
Also, the CGI, although a staff member said on Twitter that'll be rendered way better in the final version.

Just waiting for the movie to flop and laughing how /mlp/ will call everyone out on having shit taste.
Yes. In fact it's the only thing I'm truly sold on at this juncture.
I heard from someone that apparently they didnt render the trailer with the correct shader or something which fucked all the shadows on the ponies, anyone have a source for this?

>pinkie's shit eating grin when she's throwing cupcakes has me sold.
no, I dont like it.

You seem to think this board is full of people who defend MLP...
>>30424793
No that was the first teaser, they already fixed that.
>>30424852
thats disappointing.

I was repulsed by it on first viewing but I think that's just because of how different it is from the show. The show style is very flat even compared to other 2D shows while this is kind of semi-3D. It actually looks alright.Too bad there was nothing else that was interesting or funny.
The actual movie footage looks better. Lionsgade fucked up the upload again. Here's a comparison with German extended trailer.

True. It kinda felt like a trailer for episode of a show rather than a movie. But it's just a trailer so, guess I shouldn't judge yet.

To me the trailer felt like a movie ad but it didn't really feel like a theatrical movie. If not for the fluid and complex animation, I'd have thought they were just producing an FiM direct-to-video movie (which, in all honesty, would have been just fine for this franchise, not regarding the loss of mainstream attention).
>>30425874
Yeah, I can't specifically point out what but from the scene choices, it felt like the trailer itself was aiming towards fans of the show than mainstream audiences and maybe the epicness was lacking for a theatrical movie's trailer?
Not sure if this will attract people not familiar to MLP.
Don't mind it. Looked pretty Don Bluth'y imo.
