Also, I read stranger in a strange land, it's pretty easy to take what you want out of it. There's a lot of philosophy thrown around as food for thought, it never really draws any conclusions, it's why I liked it.

Its the comics that are influenced by the show, not otehr way around. The season 7 and season 8 are already planned in term of episode scripts when the last 10 comics were written.

Current comics lines after Friends Forever ended, are all based on already finished scripts of S7 that Meghan send to IDW. They only do official fanfics about future episodes. And they are barely consistant with it anyway. See Accord arc not making sense with Discordant Harmony episode.
