This isn't even the first fucking dragon attack they were called in to handle, Spike back in S2? And then leading the charge against Tirek in S4 finale? Sent to battle Changelings in Guardians of Harmony as the MAIN reinforcements? Wasn't a whole deal about '1, 2, 3 Testing' was that they were a psuedo military group or at least descended from one in the EUP? They use military ranks, etc, WHY is Spitfire suddenly putting up a big deal about hem not being warriors?

Why is half the comic dedicated to a totally out of left-field story about about Rainbow Dash needing to learn to be brave to apply suddenly to Spitfire who has taken on countless dangerous threats in the past no problem? Why is Rainbow Dash having to give her a pep talk and usurp her command when Spitfire has proven capable of doing this in the past? WHY is half the freaking comic dedicated to pages of pointless battle filler that serves little to advance the plot and we only get the rushed conclusion of the very last panel revealing Ember was behind the attack (REALLY can't wait to hear what her excuse is for destroying homes is) instead of giving this two-parter room to breathe and digging into the issue now so it isn't rushed when we resolve it next month? Jesus, this is only a two parter WHY are you wasting so much space used to tell the story and leaving it all to be crammed in later?

I'll wait until the end to rate the arc. There were a few things I didn't like (Spitfire's characterization, the Wonderbolts aren't warriors (??), Ember attacking the Yaks (????)), but the art is really cute, I loved seeing Dash's parents, and the flashback was nice.

It felt like they were trying to do 2 episode tie-ins at once with the Yaks and Dash's parents. As a result, the pacing suffered and the flashback did not segue seamlessly into the main conflict at hand. WBs calling Dash ma'am also felt very out of place but it was still nice to see them work as a team.
Cute art but the story so far feels very rushed.
