High quality VA was one of the reasons I fell for the show.

For reference I think Simpsons is all crap.
Some 30 years ago, I guess nobody cared and VA like that was acceptable,

For me, it's Rebecca Stoichet, the voice of Sunset Shimmer, Sugar Belle, and singing voice of Twilight Sparkle.

Why do people like tara so much? i mean shes ok, and shes been in lots of things, but she only does 3 voices. thats a lot less that some of the VAs id consider 'great'.

Shes definitely good, above average, but very overrated.

Yes. She's actually quite terrible in my opinion. But I especially can't stand the sound of Rainbow Dash and Applejack's voices. For Rainbow Dash, it's irritatingly high-pitched, obnoxiously loud, and as grating as the brakes on train. And Applejack has to easily have one of the worst country accents I've ever heard. I have family that lives out in the country with accents that sound nowhere even close to Applejack's. Her accent is hilariously fake, and unbearable to listen to.

I got to meet Nicole at a con last August and she was so nice. She even teased her Daybreaker voice early on without outright telling us, and it was pretty cool realizing it when Royal Problem aired. Needless to say, I got her autograph.

All Tara did was fundraising. It was the kid's parents that turned to witch-doctors and snake-oil peddlers, and they did so out of desperation AFTER the real doctors had given up on her. Later it turned out that the real doctors had misdiagnosed her, and her tumor had shrunk on its own to a size they could risk cutting out. Obviously it wasn't enough, but the thing is: There is no cure for cancer. The kid was going to die sooner or later, it was always a matter of buying time.

So, in sum:
Tara used her fame to bankroll to pay for treatment of the kid. The parents tried everything and anything to save their child. The doctors fucked up, but couldn't have performed the surgery anyway until it had shrunk. Cancer sucks, and hard.
