There is no indication that this is the case, rather it just shows that girls aren't the only ones watching the show.

This is a bad thing. All it means is that the audience they've been sucking dry is dwindling so they have to generalize their marketing tactics to appeal to more people.

I thought the GoH toyline was the marketing towards males. They changed from static brushables to detailed figures (which is why they pulled the Funko vinyl license so they wouldn't be competing) and posable toys.

EQG minis replaced the old EQG dolls which attempted to market against Monster High. I heard the dolls at one point they were outselling MH, but sales didn't keep up over time. The new minis seem to be selling like hotcakes and they still don't have some of the most desired figures out yet.

Hasbro has said before that they know the show drives their toy sales, as it dipped during the 18 month hiatus between S3 and S4. Adult fans know that the toy sales, not ratings, are what drives the continued production of the show.

Wrong. Little girls are much like little boys. Both me and my sister played Diablo II and Warcraft III when we were little, she played with her barbie dolls and I with my action figures.
