No, comic and show canon contradict each other on several points. The most notable I know of being Chrysalis and the nature of the Changelings, the comic makes them out to be made of wood and their holes being battle scars while the show states them to be insectoid with their holes being naturally formed.

That's generally how it works with spin-off material, unless it's mentioned in the source material, it isn't strictly canon, but the spin-off material is (somewhat) subject to the source material.

What I guess I'm trying to say is, and it galls me to say it since I'm not a fan of EqG and never will be, EqG is a closer candidate for canonicity in the show than the comics are.

It's still not canon, though.
