Because they're on board with the new direction the show is taking. They represent the "fifth stage of grief" family of viewers, where they've accepted that a show can't run this long without needing someone new to step in the spotlight, and they're happy to see a character as fun as Starlight with a clean state come into the picture. They're just happy to see the show try to break from the linearity it was falling into.

We all saw what happened to the Simpsons, and although I think FiM is starting to overstay it's welcome as well, it's not trying to use the same main characters over and over again. And ever since Vogel BTFO'd, I've become much more tolerant towards Glimmer and Glimmerfags.But I'll probably hate her again when S8 comes around, but I'm still hoping Vogel only wrote 2-3 episodes and she'll stay out of the spotlight for a chunk of the season.
