This movie got ravaged by critics, to this day it only has a 55% on RT, even still it's one of the greatest cult classics of the 80s and pretty much the single one thing the vast majority of the TF fandom agrees is fucking awesome and is constantly celebrated by fans and constantly referenced in all forms of modern TF media

Similarly, the same goes for the original TMNT, was always hated by critics, only 40% on RT, yet to the people who saw it and it's demographic it remains a classic film of the early 90s, I don't know a single person in my age range who didn't and doesn't absolutely adore it

This movie will be shat upon because it's toyetic, but I bet it's legacy will be great from the fans, and I bet it will actually do better critically than the aforementioned films because A. it's a girl's brand, B. we live in the era of nostalgia, and C. it's a show founded on feminism, and has six strong female leads
