I don't find her much of a mary sue, maybe a little, but that's not my beef with her. Glimmer was, as I said, a missed opportunity. Instead of meaningfully interacting with the other already established characters, it's like she's trying to form her own friend group and Twilight's friend arc is just being copied. That wouldn't be so bad, Discord does that too a little with Fluttershy, but Glimmer is supposed to be part of the main cast, she's a big part of the show now. I just hate how they either focus on maybe one character from the m6, or Glimmer, as if the two are somehow exclusive for each other. It's just lame how they have so far ruined any meaningful interaction.

Isn't that one of the main points of Glimmer being part of the story? To add a new dynamic to the already established characters, create new story arcs, new ideas, a fresh slate that can interact with the m6 in pretty much any way.

Her main strenght lied in her villanious persona. Unlike Discord she had no potential as a refomred character since Sunset Shimmer already did the same thing and Glimmer character feels like a rehashed byproduct of Equestria Girls.

I only witnessed this board loving her in S5 and S6 when there was much fun portraying her as communist or fascist.

After S6, the hype slowly faded, big smiles slowly turned into frowns as people realised that the show did the same as EQG did with Sunset. The only difference was that Sunset was more shit as villain than she is as a friend. Glimmer had shit backstory, shit refomration and shit development episodes that basically focused on other characters.

Season 6 was a transition phase between "100% of the board fucking love Glimmer" and "WTF happened to Glimmer!???"

Now whats left are just trolls who use Glimmer a the new Flash Sentry bait and some shit eaters who actually like Glimmer without realising how badly written she is and how much forced she was into the series as the mane7th character. I would sooner believe that Discord or Trixie would turn into the mane6 characters after seasons of evolving and not a character that just appeared and reformed in one season.

If it was then Glimmer would have been replaced by Sunset which i would personally prefer even if i don't enjoy EQG and human setting. Its because she was the first with the same premise while Glimmer feels like a cheap clone just so they woudn't mess with EGQ side series. Is Sunset left to join FiM, then they would have to replace the Sunset in EQG.

Who know, maybe at some point they will replace Pony Sunset with Human sunset like they did with Twilight and SciLight?
