ITT: We post a cancerous and then non canerous ship in turn.
I'll begin with cancerous.
Have the description to help the cringe:
''Soon after making Twi and Celestia’s relationship public, they began to receive indirect pressure by their followers to formalize their union in front of the forces of Light and Harmony. They, like their highest representatives, had to follow their own traditions and unite in eternal matrimony.
All this chaos took the youngest one by surprise; the idea of celebrating a wedding alongside the one who used to be her mentor did not disgust her, in fact, she desired it… But she felt that it was too early. Despite all this, the wedding was done 20 moons after their little scandal, and the entire kingdom of Equestria rejoiced at the news while they prepared.
Twilight tried to convince Luna to physically assist their wedding, something that the goddess of darkness did not like a whole lot, thinking that her mere presence could ruin the ceremony and give her an even worse appeal with mortals. Instead of this, She and Zefiroth decided to attend the wedding but in the astral plane, away from everypony’s range of vision.''
How could this thread go wrong at all? :^)

Non cancerous? Twidash.

I like Twilestia, but that particular imagining of it does make me cringe.
Have a cancer ship.
Non-cancer because Occam's razor states these ponies are straight.
All shipping is cancer. It had to be said

everyone forget about appledash?

Thanks for reminding me.

Discoshy
Nike

What do shoes have to do with this?

Nyx and Spike.
This ship is a good example of one that's cancerous. It follows the same basic formula that anon-ships follow.
A well-established and well-developed character is shipped with a very minor secondary character who's essentially a clean slate for shippers to project upon. Rather than explore the chemistry and interaction between two established characters, ships like these wallow in instant gratification and cheap self-insert cringe.
>>30134986
atleast it ain't lesbian!
>>30134986
Here's an example of a ship that isn't cancerousl.
Both characters are well-developed, so we don't fall at the first hurdle. We have something to work with.
What's more, while they share many traits and have many things to bond over, they also can't see eye-to-eye on many things and aren't immediately drawn to each other, even as friends. You can't make a compelling argument for love at first sight or what have you, you have to put in some effort and creativity. Creating a believable narrative with these two requires going into depth and exploring both characters.
>>30134991
As presented that's a non sequitor. Please try to construct an actual argument.
>>30135031
Because numbers, look up the gay percentage. The think of occam's razor you stupid cunt.
>>30134986
The best part is the soarindash shippers that got uppity when someone with an actual character (Quibble Pants) was having fun with Dash and started a new ship. That just reinforces the self insert thing even more.
>>30135037
Wait what, is your argument seriously, seriously based on real world human statistics? What the actual fuck?
Is THIS the hill you choose to die on when it comes to shipping fictional characters?
Seriously?

''Occam's razor (also Ockham's razor; Latin: lex parsimoniae "law of parsimony") is a problem-solving principle attributed to William of Ockham (c. 1287–1347), who was an English Franciscan friar, scholastic philosopher, and theologian. His principle can be interpreted as stating Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.''
>>30134025
Celestia's horn doesn't make any sense. It's just floating in her hair.
>>30135082
How is a problem-solving principle in any way relevant to shipping?
>>30134926
>He thinks Nike is just a shoe brand
>anything that isn't this
>not cancerous
>>30136227
Who are you quoting?
>>30134986
you can see this in a bunch of other straight ships too, most notably FlashLight
>>30137286
Yep. FlutterMac is another one.
For obvious reasons, it's mostly straight ships that are well-suited for plebeian self-insert fantasies. Straight ships aren't inherently worse.
>>30137297
wasn't there this comic where there was an inverted world behind a portal and Celestia plus inverted Sombra got it on?
>lesbian anything
its shit
>>30134025
The only point of shipping is to produce porn.
Therefore there is no inherently cancerous ship.
I love Twilestia porn, especially when Celestia dominates her completely obedient slave.
>>30137286
Flashlight was supported by canon you autist
>>30137589
Except for the objective fact it literally wasn't.
