I absolutely loved the development of both sisters in this episode. They both got ample screentime and their dialogue was well written and believable.

Y'know, I wonder if Celestia would rather just die if given the opportunity? In most of the episodes where there's a big bad, and she has the opportunity to get shit done, she just kind of fizzles out. We've seen that she has the potential to be incredibly powerful, but she never utilizes that power when shit hits the fan.

If she just seemingly dies in the crossfire, and inadvertently dooms Equestria, maybe she feels she'll be less responsible.
