I've reached that part, it actually drew tears from me and felt like it could have ended there. I wish it could've switched to focus on another character if anything. Blackjack is the main reason why it feels unbearable right now because it's just self loathing on repeat

Oddly enough, I got great satisfaction from that scene, because the reality funally caught up to Black Jack's level of self loathing. Like, she finally got what she wanted.

It gets better then kinda worse when OTHER characters self mope a bunch. Also gets really crazy plot wise. I can't say I always enjoyed the latter parts of PH, but it still has its cool moments sometimes. I really liked the airship battle scene for example. Lucky for you OP you can just storm though all the mope stuff and don't need to wait for it each chapter by chapter. In general I feel like PH has a lot of lost potential, but I don't think the latter parts are as bad as some people make them out to be either.

Also is the foe thread just perma dead? I recently got back into reading some foe stuff only to find the thread seems to be kaput.

I agree.

As someone who's read the entire thing before, stop at boat part. Cut it off there. If you want to torture yourself a bit more read through the nailed down and raped part, and if you're a complete nutjob psyco read to where she gets her cyborg legs. Never go any further than that, the story should've finished well before that anyways. It's the perfect stopping point before the story gets retardadly convoluted & infinitely more edgy.

Honestly I ran into the same problem you did friend. The pointless drama got pretty repetitive after a while.

Honestly took me about 6 months to read the whole damn thing.

But if you are just reading it for feels and an ok story, its a decent fit. However, if you think about it for more than 10 minutes you start to realize how stupid it is.

That being said its a good story to turn your brain off and read but higher thought is not required
