Sexualized drawings of cartoon characters are nothing new. When I was 11 years old and first started exploring IRC, one of the first things linked to me by another child was pornographic drawings of Disney characters. Cartoon pornography has been around since the beginning of the internet.
However, last night after I stumbled onto /mlp/ I realized that something bothered me about it much more than other sorts of cartoon porn I’ve usually seen on the internet: My Little Pony characters are children. These ponies have been personified with the personalities of children.
Bronies aren’t attracted to ponies. Their interest in My Little Pony does not often extend into the world of real ponies, and I see no indication on /mlp/ that these fans would find a real horse sexually attractive. I doubt many bronies would appreciate any suggestion that they are interested in beastiality. Instead, bronies are attracted to the personalities of the characters, who are children in animal form.

There is no reasonable interpretation of the show that would result in this conclusion. Sure, the conflicts are a little more simple than most adult conflicts, because the show is for kids, but by that logic most of the classic Disney characters are 'children' as well. This is almost as bad as that Ms. Magazine review where the writer had obviously never seen the show.
