There's nothing really bad about it, aside from the fact that it gets somewhat repetitive (Rarity takes Sweetie Belle to something she used to like, Sweetie Belle is bored, wash rinse repeat), but there also isn't anything really great that stands out about it. I honestly don't think she was dumbed down in this episode. Rarity only has one sister and I doubt she has been monitoring the lives of other fillies. It was made obvious to the viewer just how little fun Sweetie Belle was having, but as someone who has a little sister, it seemed pretty reasonable for Rarity to be oblivious to this.

It's a completely fresh experience Rarity and something she has no reason to expect. That's, at least in my opinion, something that is very reasonable for a lot of older siblings to experience.

Yes, it's a written piece of work and not an actual event. I don't see why that's a problem and having parallels is common place and not a bad thing.

Again, this is a common issue with siblings and just because you view it as obvious doesn't mean that it's not a very realistic portrayal. Characters have been made genuinely retarded in several other episodes but this is not one of them. Rarity is not trampling on any prior development by acting this way in the episode and it's a way that people do act towards siblings.

Also, keep in mind the Sweetie Belle that we had in S1-S6. She grew a lot in the time but she still looks about the same. Contrast how SB acted in this episode with how she acted in prior episodes. I doubt you'd fully respect just how much she was changed if you were in Rarity's shoes and didn't have a T.V. broadcasting all of SB's decisions.

Sweetie didn't magically age ten years when she got an ass tattoo. But, she did gain more of a sense of purpose, and that quickly changes people, sometimes faster than others around them expect.

A better, if maybe more extreme example, would be catching up with a buddy after they just went through boot camp. Yeah, they're still the same guy they were three months ago, but maybe instead of watching TV and drinking into the morning, they're more inclined to hang out in the afternoon just talking and having a couple beers. Or, in some cases, vice versa.

If this were some focused study where I could verify the identity of each individual I would run separate polls for each airdate and then eliminate the instances where people responded to both polls and then collate the data.

However, as this is an anonymous poll I cannot do that my options are extremely limited. I can either have a poll that runs for the leaked airdate, which leaves out approximately half of the population that I could survey. I could also try leaving a poll up for the entire stretch between episodes, however that leaves far too much room for manipulation by malicious parties or incidental third parties.

My only viable option is to wait until the official airdate, so that everyone who is going to watch the episode has watched it, and then post a single poll and hope that people will be considerate enough to rate the episode even though they may have watched it weeks ago.

This is my best option, unless you have some other suggestion that I haven't thought of. If that's the case than I would love to hear it.

The episode gave me a lump in my thought at one point because I remembered my high-school friends, we were 6 guys that used to LAN all the time, breaks we used to go to the computer lab and play counterstrike. Then one day we just kind of, didn't, we went to where all the other kids hang out (to, as far as I can tell, sit around not smiling or anything and looking at the younger kids play as if were too old to enjoy ourself anymore). I think we LANd 2 or 3 times afterwards, but it just wasnt the same, and one or the other would get bored half way and go do something else. Thats the point I usually identify as the moment my childhood ended. We met up for a kind of reunion 5 years out of school, one guy was too busy to come, one was there with his wife and 2 kids, one was annoying as hell spewing reddit memes, no one playes computer games anymore becaus they are 'too busy'. I haven't seen one of them since in over 5 years.
