Rainbow Rocks is by far the best of EQG so you should watch it. Personally I rate it among the top 5 MLP:FiM related shows/episodes/movies/whatever, of all of G4 MLP. It might be my favorite. It's literally "good."

Sunset has one good thing going for her, Rainbow Rocks... otherwise she's ether a shitty villain or bland. She can't substain off that one thing forever.

Sunset already knew about hte magic of friendship by that point, she had no epiphany.

People complain about the M6 just being batteries for the Elements or Friendship magic or whatever in most finales? well in FG they LITERALLY WERE, They lended their power to Sunset and didn't even get to take part in the big friendship blast.

The other poblem is, Twilight had a lot more character flaws to overcome following S1 E2 than Sunset has had following RR or FG, Twilight took seasons to hit a point where it started to be kinda difficult to do plots around her without retreading lessons, Sunset fell into not being able to be much more than a mentor character in 2 movies.

She has literally no personality and was a total moeblob as opposed to every other movie where she has distinct character traits that allow you to describe her beyond what actions she takes.
In the first movie she's greedy, jealous, manipulative, and destructive.
She tries to take things that she hasn't worked for by force because she is impatient and has a huge ego.

In the movies after RR she's protective of her friends because they're the first that she's ever had.
She gets very irritable when she can't understand things and quick to take responsibility when things go to shit even if it's not her fault (like how she tried to say that she's to blame for the attack during the motorcross event since Luna put her in charge of handling any magical phenomena).
She's also very excitable when it comes to learning more about the new form of magic in the human world and teaching her friends how to use it.
