The story telling and world building was always the weakest part of FiM which was traded fo comedy, messages and toy insertion. The universe had always a good premise for fanfictions but the actual story itself always contained itself in one location, with same characters doing mundane meanignless tasks that happen in modern real life rather than fantasy adventures and politics.

Mom seems like just a regular mom. Completely ordinary in every way.

They're obviously well off, though not necessarily in the 1 percent. Neither Twilight or Shiny show any social elitism, though that can easily be explained away by Twilight's isolationist life style and Shiny's discipline in the guard.

When all is said and done though, I don't really care. They haven't been involved enough in the story for me to get emotionally invested in them. I only pay attention to them at all due to their association to Twilight.

If they want to flush them out some in an episode, cool. Otherwise, eh.

Some of what he said is accurate. Make the show TV-Y7 and make consistency and proper plotting a focus and FiM could have been one of the best cartoons ever. The setting and characters are great, it's just weak in terms of continuity and thoughtful writing.

5-10 year old girls was the target demo anyway, you could make a solid Y7 show with those constraints.
