Pinkie is probably one of the biggest reasons Maud talks to a fucking rock friend and never had any others. Even the most autistic of faggots makes a couple friends with the other outcasts in high school at the very least.
Pinkie is really kind of a shallow fucking friend like most extroverted people like her who claim over 50 people as friends.
Yes, Pinkie knows their names and a bunch of facts about people that she keeps in a hidden cave. But what does she do beyond that and beyond the mane six? She gives them a party whenever their birthday hits. Wew such a good friend.
Because of how clingy she seems to be with her family and how annoying she can be I wouldn't be surprised if Pinkie caused Maud to self isolate and think that the shallow friendship she offered was all she needed out of interpersonal interactions. Which is blatantly not true with her Willson complex with bolder.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with having a lot of friends and doing a lot of little things for them. Some people are better at this, while others are better at dedicating themselves more to one person, or a few people. Not everyone is the same, and I think it'd be lovely to have a friend like Pinkie who just wants to do what she can to see you smile.

Not to excuse her behavior in this episode - Starlight was right. Pinkie got too caught up in what she wanted that she ignored what Maud really wanted. And she just forced it too hard.
