She's the original, Poochie is just an watered down clone. The writers realized that Starshit was no Sunset and could not be expected to replace her, that's why they fetched Trixie from the irrelevant characters vault and made her interact with Glimmer. Well yes and no. If we were looking at the first 2 seasons of the show, I would say no. However there are now 7 seasons and 5 of them are bad. Think about that for a minute. Over 70% of the show is shit. If we're taking into account the recent 5 seasons, I have to say that EqG is the better adaption. They're not amazing, but they are, on average, good. Not as good as the first 2 seasons, but we have a lot more to look at now than 2 seasons.

1.Building the dock, which isn't very interesting and basically amounts to nothing but a gag at the end.

2.Fighting Gloriosa and saving the camp, little build up at the beginning which acclerates at an insane rate all at once, which amounts to a lame fight and a sudden resolution.

3.Twilight overcoming her fears of becoming Midnight Sparkle, best handled plot of the film.

We also have subplots with the mane 6 learning about their powers and Timber Spruce's romance with Twilight.

Maybe if the film just focused on Twilight and Gloriosa the film could have been more satisfying, instead it feels like random events hastily strung together. This method can work if you plan your story out like that, but this doesn't feel that well planned out.
