I don't think season 5 is better than 2, but I think it is somewhat better than 4. But it's clearly obvious that the writers don't care about this show anymore and the world building could've been something spectacular, but instead it's just pure garbage. Also the wasted potential with the characters is a major concern for me (Dash becoming a wonderbolt was underwhelming, Pinkie barely getting character development and so on)
