Everything that is born eventually ages and dies, no matter how long it takes. There is little what we can do about that.

Truth is, things have slowed, but its not so bad. At least we're consistent. We have generals and recurring threads that regularly produce content, even though they may sequester board activity to them. Images are still being churned out, though not at lightspeed these days.

There's another season coming up for better or worse - I personally believe its the latter but its something and a movie to keep interest. Just because the ride's not blazing fast anymore doesn't mean that it wont still have its upsides.

There was more unity for one.

We were critical about the show and its merits and flaws without constant blindly praising/insults for it as many do now. Now, if you dont like the show or have any criticisms, you're a "fan of the fandom" or "taking the little girl's show too seriously".

We weren't divided by EQG, Alicorn Twilight, the Comics and the state of the show.

We used to headcanon all sorts of fun things about the unexplored world and have fun with it instead of labeling it as autism/cirnge.

The board also suffered quite the invasion from the Scruffening/Faust visit that attracted way too much outside attention. Its not as bad as /pol/ had it, but it definitely changed things.

The easiest way to re-achieve unity is an outside threat, or something we can all work towards, and I have a feeling that just by the movie's trailer we're gonna rustle enough jimmies that we can get on board together to piss off Anti-Bronies. above all else, if you no longer enjoy anything about this show you should just move on rather than trying to drag others down to your level of melancholy.

The "golden age" is over and it's not coming back unless the staff really gets their act together. The worldbuilding is fucked up beyond all repair and adventure episodes keep making it worse. SoL episodes are increasingly likely to feature cute ponies doing mean things to each other and generally acting OOC. I don't mean to say the show is irredeemably shit, but it's also no longer at the level of quality that would encourage people to show it to their friends, for example.

But, assuming you're already stuck on this ride with the rest of us, the best way to improve the situation is to start creating some kind of content. Even if you have no idea what you're doing, there are threads like Drawfag Improvement and Writefag General that can help you get started.

We're kinda at that point, though instead of different generations of pony, we've got different generals:
-CYOA for those who want their own worldbuildling/Game/Story
-Content creation (Writefag/Drawfag)
X Fetish Generals for those who are into those
-X Pony Thread for image dumps and occasional discussion/stories
-EQG threads Just merge the twilight/scilight shit already
-Occasional Episode discussion threads when season's on.

And so on. There are pretty consistent patterns only occasionally disturbed by random prompts that may or may not take of into a general/story thread, "What's the appeal?" threads, or happenings like /mlpol/ or fandom drama.

Depending on who you ask, we're already there. Truth be told, many just dont like the current state of the show and have their fair criticisms, but there are just as many who feel the same way about the board and shit it up to prove a point, too. There are so many divides after 6~7 years of questionable changes that we cant reasonably agree with each other anymore.

This is the real problem. It used to be easy for fanfic writers to grasp the characters and figure out what to do with them, but today everything is in shambles. The characters are succeeding at things just because they're main characters, but then there's no follow-up or meaning to that success.

We have whole regions like the Crystal Empire that exist for no reason and that don't do anything, yet we keep going to that place OVER AND OVER and still know nothing important about it because it's a dumping zone for exposition and that's all.

They don't have cohesive, logical relationships because "friendship" dominates all conflict. Their world makes no sense. Their tech levels don't make sense. It feels silly writing about ponies now.

Honestly, OC. /mlp/ is flooded with greentext, but the fandom can benefit from having them transformed into prose. Other than that, /mlp/-plays and the drawthreads bring fresh stuff to the table when their contemporaries from other sites are stuck in their circlejerks.

Tons of horsefamous faggots have posted/lurked here; the showstaff have lurked here. For fuck's sake, Lauren has posted here.

/mlp/ is one of the most passionate pony places on the net.

See, the problem is that a lot of others dont think this way. They think that if you dont like the show's direction and rant and rage about it, even if your criticisms are valid, you're either "taking it too seriously" or you're a "fan of the fandom" because you refuse to suck the show's figurative dick at every given moment.

In my opinion, true fans can still find enjoyment in the ideas the series can offer, even if it will never execute or expand on them officially. Just because one part of the franchise may suck doesn't mean everything's gone to shit.

The only time one really should leave is when they get 0 enjoyment from the franchise and its fandom tbqh.
