Vocal minority being loud doesn't mean shit. Most of the people have actually enjoyed the first movie - as it can be seen from EQD polls, like/dislike bars on Youtube, anonymous ratings on various sites (take rottentomatoes for example), and all the immediate attention RR shorts got afterward.
I am pretty sure, even on /mlp/ much more than a half of people have enjoyed EQG at its release - they just weren't as vocal about it as the ones who threw shit around.
