I used to like Spike when everyone hated him in the early seasons, but they kind of ruined him in the last few.

Some episodes were just written with him in a TOO positive light. I didn't like the emotional abuse his friends gave him in the first seasons, but it's like the writers wanted to make up for it with episodes where he saves the day in some contrived way. The stained glass episode was the first one where his deeds felt too ham-handed. The one where he saved the stadium from the ice rock was good, but why did they have to put that cringy song part in it? And the first real song they gave him also didn't sound right for some reason.

Meh, i see the problem in his episodes, is that writers are hard trying to make an expression, that they don''t make him a butt monkey and develop him as a character. But in fact, they just make him a lame mary sue, and that just ruins the character. That spike brave and glorius is such a fcking cringe fiesta, that looks like they are mocking him even more on purpose, instead of developing a character in a good way. In my opinion, secret of my excess was the only good episode for him. The rest is just an uncovered attempt to look good in eyes of spike's fans(if they care about all sort of fans at all). Episode with iceberg was kinda meh. And even more is a problem, he acts very rationally in non-spike episodes. But In his own ones , he just turns into a some kind of tard.

FIRST THING the show did was remind the kids watching EXACTLY what Spike and Rarity's relationship is: He works for her, she uses him like a fucking slave. He loves her, she sees him as a second-tier friend at best and a useful tool/annoyance at worst. He sees himself as a big help, she takes him for granted.

Then, we get Ember. Introduced as freakin awesome and everything Rarity isn't. And while not dialed up to the point where people might object, Rarity's ugly side (jealousy) is brought out enough to remind fans: Ember is better for Spike than Rarity will ever be.

The problem that arises with that point of view is that opinions on characters are subjective. I personally agree with you, but I also know to play to my audience when I write.
When I do prose writing, or something for a novel, I'll spice it up, throw in some edge or some comedy in a character's background for the sake of letting them exist how the story needs them too, and how they should. That's how you write for the masses.
Here, though, the expectations and standards are different because the audience is different. They expect characters that are relatable because they can be projected onto. Why do you think Anon exists as a character?

The real tragedy is that unlike the rest of the main cast who had their characters firmly established in the first season Spike's wasn't. We've seen him as the straight man, snarky assistant, buffoon, child, punching bag, pathetic loser and grand hero but none of it feels right because the writers were lazy and never firmly established who Spike was.

So basically this results in none of the writers knowing what the fuck to do with him and why he acts so differently in different episodes and it's why he has so few fans too because every portrayal of him alienates some part of the audience who liked a different portrayal of him better. Even the few Spike fans that exist don't like Spike for his character itself but because they see the potential in his constantly changing portrayals of what his character might have been had the writers not been such hacks.

It's all such a shame and now Spike just feels like a character they keep in the show and hamfist into a couple of episodes every now and then out of a sense of obligation, because he's been apart of the cast for so long, than because of any actual desire to use him. Spike's a broken vase and that's the best he'll ever be at this point.
