Fred Rogers wouldn't have sold out to a greasy toy company. He had lots of opportunities to become a sell out and never went commercial.

How could I forget? I spent every afternoon watching Mr. Rogers with my grandparents when I was a kid. I remember it all so clearly. That cheerful theme song, the ring of the trolley as it came rumbling along the track, everything. My childhood was spent watching this show, and hell, some of the lessons I learned from him have stuck with me to this very day. I'll always be your neighbor, Fred. RIP.

God damn it, it's one in the morning and I'm on the verge of tears. I need sleep, not an emotional nostalgia rush.

I hate to rain on your parade but no, Fred would most likely not like mlp. He generally didn't care for animation and believed a human connection was vital for educating young viewers. He would almost certainly have been overjoyed by it's message though, if only to be turned off by it's toyetic themes.

90% of the posters on 4chan have never even heard his name.
