Also, "It's a show for little girls" doesn't make it immune to criticism, ESPECIALLY when the staff goes around running its mouth to hype and shill it to kingdom come, and then goes on "it's 4 little girls u can critic eet" damage control rounds for months to avoid getting called out on the fake hype.

In fact, a large chunk of complains would dissapear if the staff learned to keep their mouths closed and wait until the episodes aired to see if they can brag or not.

You have to admit that a large chunk of the elements that made the show popular when it debuted are now long gone, anon.

The cozy feeling of a show with a medievalesque, low-tech setting with ponies doing pony things and living in a place built with pony bodies on mind was replaced with modern tech, modern buildings, modern elements like cops, telephones, billboards, portable music players (screw S01 victrolas) and the characters we loved so much getting less airtime, hating each other or simply being used as cheap plot devices to reinforce the idea that the newcomers are so great and awesome is something that tires and annoys even the calmest of anons.

Plus as I also said, the staff's toxic atitude adds to the bad pile while the good pile keeps getting less and less things added to it.

Even though I still like the show I can't disagree with that. Though I don't see shifting to more "modern" tech as a necessarily bad thing, it's been used poorly and for no real reason. That cart racing episode was such a waste, was that really necessary? But mostly what annoys me is the use of characters and their portayal. Like they have an idea for the episode and only after that they insert characters in it. It looks forced and wasteful.
I don't even give a shit about Glimmer and all that, their idea of pairing two ponies and sending them to do fuckall is just annoying at this point. I don't even have a problem with that ugly castle, fine, but the map is the single most cancerous plot device ever to be introduced to the series. It enables all kind of lazy uninspired bullshit, don't need a reason anymore, the maps says that you two need to other there, yay. I still can enjoy some episodes but this shit needs to stop, they can't cling to the old cliches forever.
