>My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #54
Rob Anderson(w) • Jay Fosgitt (a & mc) • Heather Breckel © • Sara Richard (sc) • Jennifer L. Meyer (ric)

When Fluttershy is summoned away, it’s up to Angel bunny to keep the animal sanctuary running. Will his bossy management style backfire when the other animals refuse to cooperate?

>Fosgitt is so bad at drawing ponies they give him a comic where there's few to no ponies at all
>He somehow manages to draw Angel Bunny off model

Nah, he's Jarkes, who's a noisy mental retard who carries a grudge against him and whoever who dislikes what he likes or who refuses to enable his sociopathic behaviour.

He claims to hate 4chan with all of his might and constantly tries to hijack other people's conversations to make them all about himself and his grudges no matter how many times the staff has asked him to stop being a sperglord, plus, Jarkes also comes here to shitpost and derail Pencil's threads under the excuse that Pencis is "so arrogant" and he can't withstand him so he deserves to be trolled and more retarded stuff.

And when I say "retarded stuff" I mean it literally: he's a mentally retarded guy on his mid twenties, without friends, virgin and horny as sin, poor as fuck and with a bondage fetish because of course he would masturbate to the idea of dominate the same women who reject him all the time in real life.
>>
>>29535819
Because that would be dishonest?
>>
>>29535845
Didn't stop them before, and the comic needs sales.
>>
>>29535819
Because this would make you want to buy it and Curnow wants FiM to dissapear.
>>
>>29535861
Last month the comic again failed to break 10K sales.
>>
>>29535861

No, the comic need to fail to change to dark horse comic or something better that actually care about the MLP comics.

Bobby literally don't give a fuck.

I bet that the whole "tying to the S7 " was forced by hasbro for the low sales
>>
>>29535869
>>29535874
You guys got some numbers to back this up? I've been waiting for the numbers to dip below 10k for a while now. Amazed it finally happened.
>>
>>29536512
January was fucked up schedule wise, but the RD/Soarin' FF sold 9,384 copies.
>>
>>29536523
Fucking hell. And that was one of the genuinely best comics in ages, too.
>>
>>29536533
That's how it goes. One of the most hilariously sad/fitting examples was that the Twilight/Cadance FF that was all about the latter feeling completely unloved and outshadowed by other ponies was until now the worst selling comic.
>>
>>29536512
MLP #34 (Accord saga part 2) sold 11,360 copies.
FF #35 (Twilight/Starlight) sold 9,765 copies.

It's not something that just happened, it had been happening from quite some time ago.
>>
Since images here are dead I'm going to start Comic #51's storytime here instead till image are back up:

http://mlpg.co/co/res/12756.html
>>
How would you rate Comic #51 out of 10 /mlp/?
>>
>>29536983
We'll see how it goes, but Asmus' style is really fucking weird. What town are they in? I don't get what is going on, is this just going to be a reverse of the Bookworm arc?
>>
>>29536983
Too much blabbering and too little comic going anywhere.

On the plus side, I couldn't spot Tony's retarded gremlins.
>>

>>
>>29536876
Accord arc had additional shippers hoping Fluttershy would solve the problem.
>>
>>29537133
I can't. I'm busy making huge posts on derpiboory forum like a fucking manchild and spew autistic wall text no one cares about.
>>

>>
>>29537139
Then close the browser, turn off the computer and go outside to find a life. Isn't that difficult.
>>
>>29535819
Because that image looks good, while everything drawn by fosgitt looks like trash.
>>
>>29537149
4chan is having trouble with accepting new image uploads, so the storytime was moved here: >>29536945

Next time read the fucking thread instead of just masturbating.
>>
>>29536983
Well, I can't post in the Sub forum.

But honestly, rather impressed with the comic so far. The villain's not bad, he's honestly not "OW THE EDGE" Like everyone was bitching about, and the jokes in the town were cute and endearing-- pretty much every situation they were dealing with to find out about Lock ended humorously or in a cute way (Loved The shopkeeper needing to be bribed).

The plot feels tight, its a good villain that's threatening without being Super OP (Looking at you Starlight), and everyone seems in character. It started out pretty slow, but past that, its good.

Plus, the art's nice this go around.

9/10, looking forward to more of this.
>>
>>29537188
The_Illustrious_Q.jpeg
>>
>>29537196
I hated the Accord arc with a passion (1/10 fucking hell) and think tons of the comic has been shit. Fosgitt for example needs to be fired, BADLY.
But I also like it when its genuinely good, and I won't avoid praising it just because of bad Prior works.

I think its good that they're getting new writers, because this one looks to have brought his A game and read up on the characters, as everyone feels in character and its a good read.
>>
>>29537188
Did we really get enough of the villain to make any positive determination yet?
All he really did so far was just be there and erase some books. Nothing he said so far would suggest less edge.
>>
>>29537202
His dialogue towards the group seems fairly neutral in his speech (compared to shit like sombra's SLAVES CRYSTALS SLAVES SHADOWS) crap, so he's already better than some villains we've had.

Plus, he's going about things in town in a fairly low key manner that doesn't really seem like something an ultra edgy villain would do.
>>
>>29537202
Shills are jumping to conclussions to praise the character despite not having enough information to form a valid idea about him. But since it's for praising, it's OK to do that, it's only wrong when critics do it.
>>
>>29537208
>Plus, he's going about things in town in a fairly low key manner
He breaks into Twilight's home and makes a huge mess while has this annoying Sasuke expression on his face.

Low key manner, my ass.
>>
>>29537208
I'm not convinced just yet. At best I'll say that he hasn't been more edgy.
Town was nice though. Those ponies there are kinda neat wherever they are.
>>
>>29537211
Hilarious how the haters suddenly do a 180 and jump on the "it's too early to judge yet guyz" train at the first sign of their predictions falling apart.
>>
>>29537219
That was in ponyville; he meant to break in and get out quickly. And if he just walked up to twilight and asked for the book, he would have showed twilight his face, and when she suddenly came down with amnesia about books, she'd probably quickly put two and two together, tipping her hand.

On the other hand, he has no reason to worry about ponies in the other town seeing his face, so he's going about things in normal channels. It makes sense to me.

>>29537211
I have no issue with criticism of the comics; I tear it apart constantly. I just think fans tend to jump to the "OW THE EDGE" conclusion too quickly in this fandom on a number of things-- For example, I think shadow tempest is being maligned way too much just for having a broken horn.
>>
>>29537222
I'm pointing at you hipocricy, you little autistic fag.

But since you are autistic the message went over your balding head.
>>
>>29536945
That's a second character falling for Fluttershy in the comics after that dude from Mayor's office. Are they trying to imply that Discord reformed for the same reason?
>>
>>29537188
Shadowlock was edgy as your typical edgy OC. What the fuck are you talking baout? How was he anything else but constantly angsty and brooding?
>>
>>29537222
you sound like autistic mr xemnas or Jarkes. Stop using this board if you have autism ffs.
>>
>>29537250
>angsty and brooding

What is he unhappy about? Where are his lamentation? His tears?
>>
>>29537249
Season 1 made very clear that Fluttershy is a very beautiful woman for pony standards.
It was already time they decided to do something with that old piece of character lore.
>>
>>29537259
He act like having s tragic past with books, is contantly angry, has black emo haircut, a scar, eyes with no pupils, threateans and attack everyone in autistic fit of rage instead explaining himself, wears black, no one can understand his pain.
>>
>>29537255
They claim to hate this board and everyone who use it but cannot stop themselves from talking about it, or from coming here to shitpost and then whine elsewhere because somebody dared to talk back at them.

But again, they both suffer from mental retardation issues so they literally cannot understand how stupid they are.
>>
>>29537250

Not once does he bitch about his past or anything about the world. There's nothing angsty about him in the comic.
>>
>>29537267
>He act like having s tragic past with books
Okay, now you're just projecting shit.
"He acts". bullshit, he doesn't say a single thing.
>>
>>29537267
>threateans and attack everyone in autistic fit of rage instead explaining himself
That's not what he did to the townsponies he spoke with.
>>
>>29537276
He's going to tell some tragic story on how he got that scar and you gonna feel stupid afterward. So far he's Sasuke tier in pony form. Stop damage controlling this character like he has any dimension to him,
>>
>>29537289
Why didn't he just asked Twilight for those books?
>>
>>29537296
And you're jumping to conclusions there. There's no indication that he's not just going to be a power hungry douche instead of having a sad sob backstory.

We've had plenty of villains who do shit for the sake of power, like chrysalis, tirek and coming up, stormlord.
>>
>>29537303
He'd have to show his face to twilight and she'd put two and two together when she suddenly forgets a bunch of stuff from books she just checked out right after a stranger asks for them. (Since twilight's read virtually every book in her library)

On the other hand, if he steals them in the middle of the night, there's nothing for her to go on when she suddenly comes down with book amnesia and doesn't even know WHAT the person who stole them took, let alone what they looked like.

if he'd gotten away earlier his plan would be going properly.
>>
>>29537303
Because he didn't think Twilight would hand over her personal property to some rando she just met.
>>
>>29537296
I'm waiting for the standard IDW asspull of a finale at this point. How many arcs have been ruined by a shitty ending?

Reflections, Pet Sitter, Everfree Deer, Seige of Crystal Kingdom, Black water, numerous Friends Forever, am I missing any others?
>>
>>29537249
well, she was a supermodel
>>
>>29536945
An okay start to the arc. A bit of the story-telling is questionable (why didn't Twilight teleport after Shadowlock, why weren't some authorities alerted to the break-in, why did Twilight wait until the next morning to start her tracking spell, why did Shadowlock wait until the next morning to cast his history deletion spell) but ignoring those it is a decent set-up for the conflict.

What I found more annoying was the pretty darn slow pace: we definitely could have gotten to where we were in half the issue with less time focused on the sleep-over and the long search sequence. Though AJ and Flutter's part got a chuckle out of me (odd that they told AJ she had to wrestle the strongest guy in the tavern and then forget that when Fluttershy takes someone else).

Shadowlock has a bit of presence and dread going for him though most judgement is reserved until we have motivation. The power-set is the most interesting thing about him so far, I hope we get to see Twilight breaking out some of her own book magic we've seen her employ in the Bookworm arc.
>>
>>29537374
The first comic was basically an introduction to Shadowlock's introduction.
>>
>>29537326
Chrysalis arc, nightmare rarity, basically every comic.
IDW doesn't let them stretch arcs out long enough for a good ending because "little girls can't concentrate that long" like boys can.
>>
>>29537312
How the hell do you realize when you've forgotten something? If you'd forgotten the information in the books how can you recognize you're not remembering it? They found the books empty and Twilight didn't have any kind of revelation that she'd forgotten something.

he could have asked for the books, borrowed them longer than intended, deleted them, and twilight wouldn't recognize she'd forgotten what's in them
>>
>>29535703
