Controversial opinion, I think a lot of Faust's ideas were poorly thought out and I don't think the series would have had the longevity it had if she was given complete freedom.

>I don't think the series would have had the longevity it had if she was given complete freedom.
This is true. If you want long-lived shows, they should have well-thought-out ideas. Like fart jokes. Fart jokes are good.

Controversial opinion, I think a lot of OP's ideas were poorly thought out and I don't think the board would have had the longevity it had if he was given complete freedom to be a faggot.
>>29534694
Of course that is a controversial opinion because I am right.
I think the show is still great, but Faust's plan for Twilight was incommensurately better than what happened.
Graduation, analogous to earning a PhD of the highest distinction, as she inherits the position that Starswirl served as archmage and conjurer.
Glimmer could have still happened as a protégé under Archmage Twilight, and everything else, and it would have satisfied the natural academic fruition of Twilight's studies and thesis.

I am not saying every plan or idea Faust had was worse than what happened. I am saying that she is far from being amazing in her own right.
>>29534651
I like shows that come to a conclusion though
It's always preferable to shows that just end or throw together a "final episode" when their contract doesn't get renewed.
>>29534987 for >>29534985.
I understand, but who knows what would have happened under her in the long-run.
If you've watched other shows she's directed over the course of years then maybe you have an idea and can form an informed position to that extent.

>Graduation, analogous to earning a PhD of the highest distinction, as she inherits the position that Starswirl served as archmage and conjurer.
She never said that was the plan.
>>29535024
Graduation was almost certainly the plan, considering the leaked files contained that image titled, "Graduation."
The rest is my extrapolation, but it seems most natural considering other Faustian elements.
>>29534985
I think she handles characters pretty well, my only gripe is I get the impression that Faust doesn't seem to want to make really important or really likable male characters.
Also I don't feel like she is very good at world building, leaving many things inconsistent or poorly explained.
>>29534651
I havent seen the show since S3 and the first and last episode of S4. But I do think some her ideas where flawed.
>>29534685
Pic Related is proof of your claim
>>29534651
>poorly thought out ideas
I strongly disagree.
>the series wouldn't have had the longevity
I strongly agree.
I wanted the series to end on a strong note. I would've preferred five, re-watchable seasons with a strong ending than seven seasons of bullshit.
>>29534685
That explains so many things.
>>29535535
>seven
I'm sorry to inform you but the ride will continue through 2018.
>>29535145
>leaving many things inconsistent or poorly explained
This is a GOOD thing, as evidenced by the rise of the fandom. She left blanks to fill in, for people who wanted to. She didn't clutter everything up with some trite Americana.
>>29535145
>I think she handles characters pretty well, my only gripe is I get the impression that Faust doesn't seem to want to make really important or really likable male characters
She pushed REALLY hard until she got Hasbro to approve the inclusion of Big Mac, Mr. Cake and literally all background stallions as Hasbro wanted her to make a series with an all female cast.
Faust also pushed Hasbro until it allowed her to include different body types as Hasbro wanted another show with all ponies having the same body type over and over again.
>>29534651
The series would've ended in S3 if she was still on the show for sure. Her leaving was the best thing that happened to the series. I love faust, but don't care for her ideas as much as I used to. the blind fanboy in me has left the building.
>>29535922
Nice source fag, she only force rarity to not be a "I love shopping" girl cliche with hasbro. Nothing about the males ones
>>29535145
> Faust doesn't seem to want to make really important or really likable male characters.
Fancy pant exist
>>29535936
honestly what keeps her in my mind is her last name. Its just fun having a faust of the faustian bargain have a name in children's tv show credits.
>>29535936
I may not agree with you, but I am glad that one of us can still enjoy what the show has become.
>>29534651
the only idea I didn't like was the progressive story arc.
>>29534651
Her ideas were "poorly thought out" because she was being constantly pulled down by a bunch of talentless idiots who refused to help her despite them being a team. Of course idiots like Dhx, Hasbro and the fanbase stick together in their retarded degeneracy and never admit they're the ones in the wrong. No wonder you're all a bunch of college drop outs.
>>29534651
Faust is overrated
that would've been better
this show should have died 3 years ago

Having a defined world is better than having something poorly explained.
