No, but they were utterly pointless pieces of crap that Muddied up the film and served only to make things busy without actually adding anything to the film.

The film should have just had twilight trying to investigate the Magic at CHS, no Shitty games crap, and the plot would have flowed drastically smoother and with more time to focus on Sunset and twilight to make the plot work well.

You could still easily have had twilight be bullied by cinch by having her yell at her about wasting her time on looking for magic as a fantasy and be bullied into producing proof for her theories in order to lead into the Midnight sparkle part.
