You want to hire newbies who don't know what their labor is worth, get as much cheap work as you can out of them with a simple style, and drop their ass the second they complain.

There's always new animation graduates in search of a job, and executives/the industry in general have a much wider choice of where to pick from than they did even a decade ago. I can't think of a "desk job" that I would want less than a grunt animator at one of these big studios.
