Hasbro presents their fourth quarter 2016/full year 2016 results on Monday, ahead of Toy Fair. Don't expect announcements on lines, but they'll probably come before Toy Fair when they update investors.

In terms of profit, realize that the entire toy industry was in the shitter after 2016. A strong dollar combined with a lack of consumer confidence means sales will probably be poor overall. Though I would guess that EqG Minis and Guardians of Harmony both exceeded expectations.

So what does this mean? Pony forever?

Investerfag from few previous threads here
You guys want a live thread monday while i sit in in the call?

just so you guys know, these calls usually will not give any news thatsshow related, its all about earnings, profits, future wave updates, projections and speculation on future earnings. But you never know...

>>29406697
Nah. Maybe if they say something about toy lines.

Of course. Because there's no possible way that poor sales could be due to the show's quality.

No chance at all.

becuase if they are so jewish,at least they have a bit of common sense shutting up about politics and just limiting themselves on selling stuff

>>

Toy Fair then?
>>
>>29408033
Well, I WAS implying that. Now I'm just flat-out stating it. The only thing that has improved is the animation.
>>
>>29407674
The most they would ever do is just only make shorts. They're moving away from TV in general. Hanazuki gets millions of views on YT.

>>29407949
>>29408061
A strong dollar always hurts toy companies, and fewer people paid full price for toys because stores keep slashing prices to get people in. Strong dollar means foreign sales get eaten into.

British toy industry was fucking destroyed by Brexit mostly because the entire toy industry in Europe is run by Continentals, though.
>>
>>29408344
Slightly before Toy Fair generally.
>>

I think Hanazuki is a good show.

Aren't they making a Netflix exclusive Stretch Armstrong cartoon?
>>
>>29408571
Yep.
>>
>>29408603

I feel like a lot of companies are moving away from TV in favor of Netflix and the Internet.
>>

I just wanna know if they are ever planning on coming out with a new version of Sunset's mini. She sold amazingly well yet she hasn't gotten a playset and only one version/outfit while the others already have 2-3 versions and a playset each. Even AJ does and no one likes AJ. AJ doesn't even like AJ.
>>
>>29408475
it is only unpopular outside 4chan /co/ loves it.
in fact i would say its more that 4chan noticed it more.
>>
>>29408697
because more people have access to internet and Netflix from all their computers and mobile devices
TV is outdated at this point and I'll be surprised if it survives another 5 years
everything will be done online and you'll be watching "TV" on your devices exclusively

they've already been merging TV and computer monitors together for a few years now under the "Smart TV" label
>>
>>29408697
Having the EG show as a Netflix original might not be a bad idea for Hasbro. It would be a great way to get the content out to people and it would be decently advertised to those who may have never seen it.
LoE already went straight to Netflix of you don't count the Brazil release so I wouldn't be surprised if they made it a Netflix original.
Wouldn't be a bad idea.
>>
>>29408740
Would probably be just more of those CGI stuff.
>>
>>29407674
they actually probably will discontinue the regular EQG line and just replace it with the minis
>>
>>29408896
You mean the 3D shorts?
That's not gonna be used for the specials.
>>
I am more interested in the next one to see how well the new more reasonable power distribution in magic is increasing sales

>Girls category revenues in 2016 grew 50% to a record $1.19 billion. The category benefited from shipments of Hasbro's line of DISNEY PRINCESS and DISNEY FROZEN fashion and small dolls, the successful launch of DREAMWORKS' TROLLS and significant growth from BABY ALIVE. Additional revenue growth came from Hasbro brands including FURREAL FRIENDS and EASY-BAKE OVEN products.
Things are looking good for the company, but MLP is just coasting by. We're only mentionned once in the document, and that's in the standard disclaimer.

International segment. Brand engagement continues to build through
multi-screen storytelling, and we have an innovative and robust line with
new characters and worlds.

>Within the International segment, all product categories grew. Franchise Brand revenues increased 3%, with growth in NERF, PLAY-DOH, MAGIC: THE GATHERING and MY LITTLE PONY.

>We continue investing in differentiated storytelling and entertainment, including the 2017 MY LITTLE PONY animated feature

MLP is still going strong but not growing significantly. If they fail to innovate, brand engagement could decline. A lot is going to depend on the success of the movie and the next season.

just stating a fact that Shimmer helped save Hasbro's sales this past quarter
she sold out everywhere
her minis were going for 3 to 6 times the MSRP on amazon alone (24 - 50USD)
whereas all the other minis would barely hit 20USD, even Vinyl had a difficult time hitting that mark

Accoring to shareholder info sent out today, company did an all time high in revenue, profits are only expected to increase this year due to transformers amd pone movie. Nothing specific in the recap about pone sales, only girls

hasbro is the type of stock that you should hold onto for a long time to see the most profit (such as Apple or microsoft) so dumping it all when the ride ends (>implying it does) may not be the best idea, since once something ends, it usually wont be long until they replace it
