I've gotten much worse hate within the fandom than I've gotten from the outside for liking a cartoon. Hell, I've gotten worse hate from within this community than anywhere else. This. Most of my coworkers know that I watch pone due to conversations about shows we all watch, never got any shit for it. Even some people at my church know, and they don't give a damn.

Not even my hyper conservative God fearing parents care. I started watching with my two 11 year old brothers earlier this year, and they got them Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash plushies for Christmas.
