the closest thing to "pandering" (other than naming Derpy) would be ep 100
even then, all they did was flesh out bg characters
the issue with this was that people had too many years to grow fanon accepted personalities (and a lot of those actually made sense from what little actually was in the show)
Hasbro had no reason to flesh out bg characters when the show was gonna end with MMC

considering the restriction Hasbro gives them, they have done a decent job so far
