Its visible in every season. From the way they act as a married couple on the Gala or some emotional moments in the finales.
It make it less obvious than some one second blushing or bg shipping as CheerieMac. But that really what gives it the most possibility of becoming canon. They are simply played as something serious rather than a joke for shippers.

Flurry has a very boring background. Her life is perfect with perfect parents and being loved by everyone. She's too boring to become an MC.

Discord/Fluttershy kid could get the backstory of being look down upon by his peers due ot his look and legacy of his father. He could also start as an asshole due to Discords genes and he would need to learn on how to do frinedship from a scratch. Flurry would obviously knew everything. At best i could imagine Flurry Heart as his love interest or something but not as a main character.

I guess it depend on how much you like and care for characters. I personally were shipping Rick and Michonne in Walking Dead and I also ship characters in games and anime. I guess its a need to seeing your favourite characters happy and interact. I guess a big part also self insert themselves into characters, so if you for example see yourself as a beta like Spike or Sunburst, you will prefer them to get shipped with Glimmer or Rarity depending on what character you like more. It's hard to explain, shipping just happen. And its hard to believe that you NEVER shipped any character in any story, book, movie, cartoon, vidya etv.

You know, I don't even necessarily disagree with that. But I will say that being born a princess by two perfect hero parents can create a lot of pressure for a young girl to live up to. A good writer can make a good story out of anything.

Also, this franchise is meant to sell toys to little girls, and a Fluttercord abomination would be a difficult, though not impossible sell to that demographic.

At this point Twilestia is fucking dead. They started showing Celestia less once they had the other mane six write friendship reports and now that Twilight is a princess with her own pupil, Celestia has even less screen time. I wish she'd get an episode featuring her like the staff have done with Luna a few times but the chances of that happening are pretty slim now-a-days. Earlier seasons claimed Twilight and Princess Celestia were close but the show seems to show otherwise.
