Anon, the whole character development of the episode is for Glimmer to be confronted with a mirror image of herself. Due to her chronic loneliness after Sunburst left, Glimmer never developed sufficient empathy to see things from others' points of view. She often has trouble understanding that things may be valuable for reasons other than the surface actions. Snowfall is very much like that, too.

Funnily enough, it was Mike's other episode, ELTSD, the episode which made me hate her. Before that episode I though she was super interesting too. But after that episode, it was absolutely obvious that Starlight is broken beyond repair, she's a fucking psychopath unable to learn anything who should be in a sanatory and I want her out of the show.

I know you're reading this, Mike. Good job, man, you wrote an episode so fucking atrocious that it made me hate a pony for the first time since I started watching this show. Great fucking job.

Except that's not Snowfall's problem at all. Snowfall was just a normal filly wanting to do filly things, but her teacher is a cold heart bastard that force her to chose studying under him, or never be good at magic. We both know what she took, but in your comparison you failed to realize that Glimmer never had a teacher so her fuck cutie marks idea is her own, Snowfall on the hand was young and impressionable, and since she studied under such a teacher, she merely adopted his mannerism, her fuck Hearthwarming day was not of her own idea.

Copy-pasting in parts of the grinch for the standar christmas carol parody is lazy enough, not to mention the fact the stories are basically ying-yang-ish, but to completely fuck up the moral of Christmas being more than just materialism is so fucking retarded it almost seems intentional.
